Biography

Jonathan Campbell

New Era Piano was started in February of 2015 by solo pianist/composer Jonathan Campbell.

Jonathan was born June 2nd 1994 in Gainesville, Florida. His passion for music started at age 6 in Folsom, California, where his mother won a Schafer & Sons upright piano in a raffle, and immediately signed him and his brother up for piano lessons at the Folsom Piano Academy.

Jonathan went in and out of piano lessons as his family moved many times around California, but his passion for music never left. At age 10, he joined the Smith Elementary School band in Livermore, California where he pursued the trumpet. He excelled at the trumpet quickly, and was given first chair in the band in no time. He continued to play the trumpet throughout middle school.

At age 12, he was given his first acoustic guitar as a Christmas present. That year, during his move from California back to Florida, he was not able to play the piano, but spent many hours perfecting the guitar. At age 13, he was given an electric guitar for his birthday and quickly learned many songs from his favorite metal and rock bands.

After moving to Viera, Florida Jonathan attended Viera High School. He resumed piano lessons all the way up to his senior year, however most of his time was spent focusing on athletics. He was a track and field and cross country athlete for Viera High School and was given the Scholar Athlete of the Year award his senior year.

Jonathan now attends the University of Central Florida. In 2015, he released his first solo piano album Eternity.
